Current setup-upgrades for U.S and Europe

I have been using Tom Tom version 2.24 which is an upgrade from
version 2 which I have been using now since June 2003!

PDA-Dell Axim X5 running Pocket PC 2002.
GPS Antenna-Compact flash card based-Holux GM 270

Since I travel frequently on business to the U.S and mainland Europe , and getting lost very frequently, I was thinking of a relatively inexpensive way of adding U.S and Europe maps.

Mapopolis was mentioned as an alternative although Im not sure if that would be compatible with the Axim X5 and Pocket PC 2002!
Tom Tom is brilliant although Im happy to uninstall it if need be, if there are cheaper sources for maps.

Any veterans in the GPS game who would be able to help ,thanks in advance.

Mapopolis will work fine on your hardware. Eventually it's a question of your budget more than anything else.
