Maybe the instructions weren't quite clear.
When you copy the files from your computer to the Go, THAT'S when you have to put them (individually) into the map folder. On my Go300 its called "Great_Britain-Map", can't remember what its called on a 500.
So each .ov2 (and the .bmp icon file with the same name) should appear inside the map folder if you look at it with your PC.
When that is done, you should be able to find the new categories in Preferences / Manage POI / Enable POI |

And you're sure that the ov2 and bmp files aren't inside any other folder when you put them into the map folder?
i.e. if you look in your Great_Britain_Plus-Map folder it should have:
cline.dat
cname.dat
cnode.dat
.
etc etc.
.
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
.
etc etc.
If they ARE in sub-folders, you should be able to just cut and paste to get them out again.
So long as the contents of your map folder look like the above, it SHOULD work.... |
