From what I have read here I understand that TT can be activated a second time after a lapse of one week and then a further time after a lapse of 6 months. However, what does an activation mean - do you need to do this for example after a hard reset of your PPC, or is it just if you move it to a different PPC ? |

The activation is machine specific, a hard reset will not affect your set-up (with the exception of some mio units running WM2005, where people are reporting a hard reset changes the device ID) you just re-load the application and it will work with the map on the memory card, the second/ third activation is for upgrades to your hardware, PDA change etc. Under the license you can only have the software on a single device in use at any one time - Mike |

With a hard reset you shouldn't be prompted for the activation code for the device, if you are then visit your account at TomTom (online) and get the code for your device online - it will be stored there.
If its a new device then go to www.ttcode.com and follow the online activation for the device, if this fails then contact tomtom who, as Andy points out may require original proof of purchase, this might be a little easier if you purchased direct from TomTom in the first place - Mike |
