(sorry for sending so many threads just that ive been working on my navman 550 after i send the thread and i move onto the next level so i add another 1 wiv that problem ect.)

It depends on what files you've deleted, I suspect. WinCE 4.2 is the underlying operating system, as it is on the other 5xx devices, and people have unlocked those units, so I suspect that it is possible on the 550, too.
