Lost map!

When I got my TT300 6 months ago I backed up my SD card using the software provided.
yesterday I tried upgrading the software and for some reason it failed.
I wiped the SD card and went to perform the backup.
All OK except.... no GB map!
Should this have been backed up separately?
I thought the backup function would do just that, backup the whole SD card Sad

I don't want to purchase another map as I don't think this was clear in the instructions.
Any ideas?

It will not help you much just now, but the best method to use when backing up is to simply connect your TTG to the PC and access it as a mass storage device through windoes explorer. You can then simply drag the entire contents of the SD card (maps included) over to the hard disk.

I don't think it's very clear that using the TT backup method does not actually back up the maps though!
I now have a totally useless TT300. Crying or Very sad

Call TomTom on 0845 161 0009.

They may be able to help. but there's an "administration fee" to fix you up with another map. You will also need to send them proof of purchase etc.

Worth considering upgrading to the CD maps of Europe or even the seamless map used on the 700 which TT now sell on a SD card. Accessible via "Products/Go300/Accessories"

Or just download the latest map from the TT website. Click on TomTom PLUS.
