No reception!!!!

I just bought a garmin i3 and the instructions are absolutely useless. i've worked how to use it though but the problem is the satelite reception. Should i always have trouble getting reception when im indoors. I also took it out aswell and had trouble keeping the reception. Is there anyway i can boost the reception or is my i3 faulty. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you.

1. Don't expect GPS reception indoors!

2. Do you have a heat-reflective and/or heated windscreen? Known probs with signal being blocked by these. Solution: Reposition unit or buy an external aerial (plugs into lefthand side - bronze coloured socket).
