Holux GPSmile 60 Problems and Advice

Hi, I just bought a mile 60 with Tom Tom 5. It appeared to have a problem whereby it would crash partway through a journey or demo route, usually at the same point in the route but on differing routes, back to the Windows desktop. In doing so it also changed the screen layout from landscape to portrait.

The vendor has advised me that Tom Tom 5 clashes with Windows which is causing the crash and that a Tom Tom mod will be coming out shortly.
Has anyone else experienced this or got a workround?

He has kindly given me Tom Tom 3 in the meantime which works fine but I don't like it as much as 5.

I have added the speed camera database which works fine with TT3 but I would like an audio warning for the camera's. Does anyone know of software that can do this - preferably cheap! or freeware!

Lastly anyone know how I can add programs to the Windows 2003 desktop e.g. contacts?

Welcome to the forum, Was you device running TTN 5,21 (that is the latest version and contained a number of bug fixes) - it might be worth asking the vendor for clarification on this. You want audio warnings for the cameras, then you need CheckPOI, its avail from the downloads section of this site, to work with TT3 go for the vs3,2 try this link http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=3 - Mike

To be honest I'm not sure which version of TT5 was on it. Hopefully 5.21 is the update he's on about.

Just for info if anyone has similar problems, I have now fixed the problem by installing the Tom Tom 5.21 update. No more crashes! hoo rah
