Any software available to time 0 to 60 and standing quarter

I have a Ipaq 2750 with TOM TOM 5 and GPS bluetooth receiver. Is thier any software that can be used on a pocket PC to time a quarter mile and 0 to 60 times.

Civil GPS units only update the information once per second so its not very suitable for timing a high speed run over a set distance - this could be done using a data acquisition card in a PDA using tailor made code reading the cars speed fed from an inductive probe on the diff - this results in a variable frequency signal that is proportional to the speed, I use the GPS velocity to calibrate this set-up it can be done, but it isn't cheap my CF DAQ cost 400 pounds the software to script applications for it was over 4000 hardly cost effective - Mike

Thanks Mike. I thought they would have been more accurate that that if it was in a straight line.

It was somthing I fancied playing around with, Guess thats why I could not find any software when I ran a quick search
