Hi Everyone, New to the board. First day and all, so in all very nervous. . Reason im posting is that i got a TomTom 300 from Santa and it came from Comet, with a voucher for Speed Cameras direct from Tom Tom Website.
Just wondered, why are they wanting to charge £60 for this update. Are they supposed to be better than the ones that this website can offer? Why be so redicoulsy priced??
Anyhow, i uploaded the voucher and i got the Speed Cameras and managed to upload them. (Yes it worked and i never had to pay a penny - amazing eh!) So far they are A OK. The only thing i notice, is that they dont tell u wot type of camera is coming up, they also dont tell you the Mobile sites, nor the Red Light Cameras. They do give the speed warning of the camera coming up tho.
So in all they are not that good compared to the ones that i read you can get from this site. I must admit, they were extremely easily to download as i never had to put anyfiles into folders, just connected TomTom to the Computer and hit the enter and key. and walla - all done!! So definately good if you are not very computer literate like me.

Welcome to the forum, why not try both the tomtom offering as you have it along with the camera database from this site, which at the moment is free, and it will inform you of the speeds etc and the camera type you are passing - the two sets can co-locate on the same device after a trial period you can then choose between the two ours for a proposed future charge of £19 per anum or the TT one for the £60 you mention, this will also allow you to check the accuracy of the two offerings against each other, I am sure there will be many wanting to hear the outcome of the comparison, whilst at the same time there will be advice offered to get the PGPS database up and running if you find you need it - Mike
