Suitable PDA software "pedometer" type tracks?

Hi

Apologises if this in wrong place etc,

But i would like to use my Ipaq PDA together with my Holux 236slim (in pocket) as a kind of Pedometer, for keeping records and tracks of where i have walked and miles / times kinda data (in training for major walk!)

I firstly would like to know of any software that can do this for me, simply and easierly due to working it whilst out walking. I may alos look at topographic software for maps etc but that may come later, if someone can recommend something that will work as a pedometer style record i would be very grateful.

If you want full blown maps the Memory Map OS is about the best bet, it will data log as well, but I suspect that is for later on. A couple of utilities spring to mind, the first being GPS Dash, it will log certain parameters http://wimobi.com/gpsdash/overview.ppc2.php Also have a look at GPS Speed Sentry this has a fairly extensive data loger and is configurable dependent upon the users needs, a trial version is avail so you can try it free (it is time limited to ten mins use without registration) avail from http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~tchart/
