|
|
Hi all,
is it posible to edit EVERY line in a POI file in one go without doing it line by line?
I would like to edit the description of every line in the gatso file
just to leave the speed. IE from GATSO:1518@60 to just 60 ?
this will allow me to show the speed next to the cam icon on the map
without the GATSO:1518@ bit cluttering up the map
Paul

If you load it into Excel then you could remove that column and replace it with whatever you require. |

You could use something like Word to Find & Replace. Don't save it as a .doc file though. _________________ Richard

But then you'd have so many hundred(?) POIs called 30, which might confuse the software somewhat. _________________ Tim |

You can select via the different menus within Excel what to remove in each column, you can break down each column and split it how you require, so no it does not remove all of the data.
You can put column breaks where ever you require, that's the whole point of Excel. |

Just create a new column next to it and use a formula to leave the speed at the end. This assumes that the original column is A, the new column is B and the speed at the end is 2 characters:
1. Click in cell B1 and type the formula =Right(A1,2) and press enter.
2. Highlight all cells in column B down to row n where n is the last row that is filled in in column A (so if data in column A goes down to A350 highlight cells B1 to B350).
3. From the menu select Edit>Fill>Down.
4. Highlight the whole of column B and Edit>Copy, followed by Edit>Paste Special>Values.
5. That should give you what you want so just delete column A |
