Hi Madmaz
What changes have you made?
When you say settings, do you mean volume;language etc
or do you mean things like altering inf files, changing voice commands, etc
What problems are you having with it?

Tried to install saftey cams did that with no probs then tried to add addtional voices (EG "GATSO AHEAD") but that did not work followed the instructions on how to downlod the datbase of cameras that worked and also followed the instructions on changing the voice files that did not work i keep getting a "favourites alert" voice everytime i go past a speed cam or traffic light etc, but all the voice files are in the correct older
So i thought of tring to get rid of the camera datbase etc and starting again but forgot to do a back up of the sd card. |

Ok that is not a problem. It looks like you have the cameras on there fine as you are getting the warning when you approach them. Leave them as they are.
As for the voice files it is slightly different for the GNAV10 as it uses spx format and not wav.
Firstly: is the "gatso warning" you wanted to use a wav file?
Second: Did you rename the gatso warning file to 141.
Third: Did you put the gatso warning voice file in this directory:
Resident Flash/DestinatorApps/Destinator/Common/Interface/Voice/All |

Right then. You got the right directory but wrong file format.
Unfortunatley at the moment I think the GNAV10 can only make one warning command. This is a complete arse but I have not found another way. Even if you put your camera databases in different catergories: i.e. auto alert 1 and auto alert 2. The command only activates the 141.spx (the good old "favorites alert")
Therefore, find the most suitable warning out of the ones you have. Name it 141.wav.
Download speexdrop from by clicking the link
http://www.rarewares.org/files/others/speexdropV0.0.8-1.0.5.zip
Unzip the file then double click the exe file. A speexdrop box will appear on your desktop. Drag the chosen wav file over the box and it will convert it to spx. and save it in the same place as the wav file you put in.
Put the 141.spx file into the directory I mentioned before and delete the wav files you put there earlier.
It should then give you the warning you want.
You might want to make a copy of the entire ALL folder before you proceed. Then any changes you make in that folder can be returned to default.
Hope this is of some help

Now I am confused??
You have 100 wav files in :
Resident Flash/DestinatorApps/Destinator/Common/Interface/Voice/All
the all folder??
If so, did you put them there?
Are there any .spx files in there? |

Just to add to that. I just thought, are all the files the ones you downloaded?
Are they various different alerts? |

Glad its working. I would delete all those wav files off your GNAV as at the moment they are useless and wasting your memory.
If I am right, you have got a load of warning wavs for various things such as :
accident blackspot
Check speed
gatso 30,40,50 etc
caution tram crossing ahead
If so then there would not be much point in converting them as GNAV10 has no programmed commands for such things.
As I said earlier. You can create many different catergories in your favorites for points of interest, to show you where accident blackspots are and tram crossings. However, you cannot set seperate voice alerts for them. At least not that I know of. I was under the impression that we could utilise 2, maybe three different voice alerts but have not figured it out as yet.
You can however change the way that destinator says things for different commands. If you wanted it to say turn around instead of u turn, you could by editing the voice files. If you are intersested in doing this have a look on forum tommorow as I will be posting instructions on how to use tomtom voice packs for destinator. This might give you some ideas as to how the above is done.
For now delete the wavs but keep them on your pc. You never know, Destinator might come up with a patch or an upgrade that will allow us to use them. |

No problem Maria, it is my pleasure.
I will keep you updated if I fix any of the problems. Don't hesitate to PM me if you need anything else. Don't forget to check the forum tommorow if you want to us the tomtom files. I would put it on now but not got time.
Happy driving
Take care
