I have downloaded the speed camera database from this site and saved it to the root drive of my Tom Tom GO700. Whilst driving 200 + miles today it did not warn me of ONE camera. Is there some way I need to activate the database in my GO700. I appear to have the files but it does not work.
Help please !!!

You may want to read the manual after all...

Quote:
TomTom GO
Copy the OV2 and BMP files to your Storage Card into the Country Directory (e.g. \Great Britain) and enable them in the POI screen.

I have since found the "Help a beginner" post. I have followed the instructions on there. It appears that the database POIs are now on my GO700. I will try it out tomorrow and let you know. Thanks

Don't forget you can try it out by running a demo of a route too Smile

It picked up the cameras nicely today. One thing it doesn't show is the speed limit for each camera. ie with Checkpoint it would show 30 or 50 or whatever. Is there a file I haven't copied over that gives that info please ?

Yes.
Take off the "overall" Gatso and Mobile files and replace with the speed-zoned files.
Don't worry, this is the thing everybody seems to get wrong first time, judging by the huge number of times it comes up here. There are instructions in the download package and one of the moderators will be along in a bit with links to the beginners guides etc. Smile

Hi TonyPezz,

Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

There are some guides that should be read (in the following order):

Arrow The beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
This explains about the different camera types and about categories and subcategories, so that you can decide how you want the database on your unit.

Depending on whether you have TomTom Navigator on a Pocket PC or TomTom GO, please read either:

Arrow How to install (camera database) POIs to TomTom Navigator 5.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto a Pocket PC running TomTom Navigator 5.

Arrow How to install (camera database) POIs onto a TomTom GO, Rider, or One.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto your TomTom GO, Rider, or One.

Once you have installed, set up, and used the PocketGPSWorld camera database for a while on your TomTom SatNav system. You may want to share and send in details of cameras yourself. You can do this by using the PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility:

Arrow The PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility.
You do not need the PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility on your TomTom SatNav system in order to use the PocketGPSWorld camera database. However if you want to send in camera details then POI Capture makes the process of recording cameras much easier on TomTom Navigator and GO (original, 300, 500, and 700). At the moment POI Capture will not work with TomTom Rider, One, and mobile. This is for a technical reason, which we hope, will soon be rectified by TomTom.

The above guides may look lengthy and complicated when first seen. However if you grab a cup of coffee and read each one thoroughly then they should make sense as they have been written in a step-by-step way, for ease of reading.

Regards,

Thanks for your help. I cannot see an "overall Gatso" file/folder. What I have done is open the Speed Zoned folder and copied all the .csv and other files to Western Europe folder. Is this going to be OK ?

Hi TonyPezz,

No, TomTom products only need the .OV2 and their respective .BMP files.

I know that the guides are quite long, but they do have a lot of information. Please grab another cup of coffee and read the beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database again and then the installation instructions for the TomTom GO.

Regards,
