If I have postcodes for POIs, is there anyway to translate this to the references needed for POIs.
If there is, will it bulk translate a list of such postcodes?? |

Yes. If you import them into Autoroute it will generate the Pushpins, which you can save as a .axe file.
This can then be converted to a POI group with POIConverter.
Be aware that not all Postcodes are recogined by even Autoroute 2005.
I have to check just North of Lancaster for all Postcodes that are not recognised.
You can check these against the data at www.streetmap.co.uk and move the push pins manually. _________________ Richard

If you've only got a few to do, it might be quicker to do it manually...
Tap:
"Browse map"
"Find" (magnifying glass)
"Forward arrow"
"Postcode"
(Enter it)
It should now show the blue cursor on the map position
Tap the cursor button at the bottom then "Add as POI"
(If you want it to go into a new POI category, you need to have created it first (in "Change Preferences"/ "Manage POI")) |

You can try the postcode to waypoint converter at http://ukpostcodes.boldlygoingnowhere.org.
This accepts a list of postcodes and batch converts them to the correct format for import into OV tools, you can submit up to 50 in a single batch. More than 1000 postcodes have been converted by users of this forum in the last 5 days....
Its by far the quickest method of converting a batch of postcodes. (unless someone tells me otherwise) _________________ Apologies to all my supporting users, the http://ukpostcodes.boldlygoingnowhere.org/ postcode converter has now been retired.
The ubiquity of full postcode lookups has made it somewhat redundant. I still have the code if anyone needs it. |
