1. I cannot get my Go 300 recognised via the USB port so...
2. I use a card reader from which the 'setup' software will back up the stuff but..
3. when I try and upgrade a few seconds later it says 'success' or something but...
4. it hasn't actually done anything. My 5.1 software remains in place.
5. so how to I install the new stuff directly to the card?

Do you still have the CD in the PC when you do the upgrade install? This used to be a problem in earlier versions, perhaps it still is.

If you have the CD with the Setup Program which you used to Backup the 300, and it is still in the PC, when you run the Install Program for 5.420 it will look in the location of the last TT install (setup), which would be the CD.

If you take the CD out, it will look in the next default location, which is the Folder where you are running the 5.420 Install. Smile

Thanks. I didn't use the CD to back up. The downloaded update program has the option on the setup menu which I used. Then I tried to install the update which didn't work.

In addition, if I plug the TT into a USB socket my computer doesn't see it. The last update (5.1) I did was with a card reader. I simply copied the files over to the card but this new update has all the files compressed so I'm having to use the setup program.
