Hi I am new here and have posted this in the begineers lounge but I suppose it is better here
I have just bought an IPAQ 2110 and want a car cradle that will power the unit as well provide GPS.
The two units I have seen are the
Thinknavi Speaker Mount and GPS Receiver All-In-one or the
Holux CR-100 Cradle with built in GPS Receiver
both of these seem like fantastic cradle and both have good reviews but if you had a choice between the two which would you recommend.
I have seen them both for the same price as well. |

I wanted something with a little more sound and ended up buying the Houlx Cr-100 (very nice).
Of course it fell off the windscreen twice before I finally got it settled in the position I wanted. |

Can't speak for the Holux, but the Thinknavi is a neat piece of kit. Comes with Richter plate fixing, vent mount (OK - it's what I prefer - others may not) and gooseneck windscreen mount (don't bother - wobbles around too much, as probably do most gooseneck mounts).
First TTFF was a bit disappointing, but thereafter it fixes within a couple of mins or less (would be much quicker if I used it more regularly, but I also use the BT 338) and holds the fix with no problem. Accuracy on the road is also pretty good - TT5 reports I'm passing sideroads at pretty much the point when I do pass them.
I don't really need the amplification - the 2210 is quite loud enough at 70% at any speed (legal, of course ) in my ageing Benz but it's a useful attribute and would recommend it. I have no regrets in buying it, esp. when compared with the "wires everywhere" syndrome with the TT5 wired receiver outfit I used to use.
Hope this helps
Whoops! Just noticed your post - too late!!! _________________ Garmin 2360LT
