Pulled out on the North Circular westbound near East Finchley, with Traffic running. Up came the icon for roadworks near the junction with the A1.
Tap on the icon -- says "no incidents reported". I take this to mean there are road works but no jams.
2 mins later -- join the end of an enormous jam. Cue angry wife, kids at boiling point.
Surely it should show a jam and expected delay time? This is after all a major trunk road fully covered by traffic monitoring.
Can't have much faith in this system currently, and won't be signing up after the trial. |

After 6 months of running tomtom traffic and traffic-i alongside each other I have found:
1. tomtom traffic is rarely right
2. traffic-i (trafficmaser data) is usually right
If only tomtom could integrate the trafficmaster data all would be well. _________________ Everywhere and nowhere

After having my Go 700 for 6 months now I can honestly say that the traffic option has been a waste of time.
It hasnt helped me at all, as usually the delays it picks up on are cleared by the time you get there, and the current ones arn't listed.
Its right what they say - the information is only as good as the people that are putting it on.
Not impressed with being stuck on the A1 in Bedfordshire for 2 hours Thursday afternoon (No disrespect to those involved) but it would have been nice to have been warned, after all, thats why I subscribed for the service. |
