I have installed the speed cameras onto my go300 sucsesfully, 2 questions I have

1. It defaults at 273 yards for the warning, is 273 too much or not enough, would like to know a good distance. I travel on motorways between 70 and 80.

2.I have ticked only warn when cameras on route, is it best I unticked.

Cheers

The general consensus seems to be about 200yds for 30mph Gatso, going up to about 400yds for a 70mph.

Mobiles, I usually double that figure as they have a greater range and they can 'see' you before you see them.

Personally, again, I leave it unticked so that I am aware of cameras on the other side of the dual carriageway, and can 'be prepared' on the way back. Smile

Trial and error, boyde. I have mine set to 400yds.

Showing my ignorance here, but if you don't actually have a route set, will you get a warning if you have 'Only warn when cameras on route' is enabled?

I used Beep 5 too but soon changed to polite 3 after driving through the roadworks on the M60. It drove me bloody crackers.

The distance will decrease by 1 each time you go into the menu, if you don't change it.

It's a TomTom thing.Rolling Eyes
