Hi, I'm thinking about getting a N. America iCN 520 for use in a BMW 3 series. I can't figure if my BMW has an athermic windshield. Has anybody used a navman successfully in their bmw 3 series? Thanks!

Hi , Yes iCN 520 works well in my BMW 320
However I much prefer the Brodit holder rather than the supplied windscreen holder

I have a BMW 325 and it has an athermic windshield, it was an optional extra, and my Navman 510 works without too many problems. It does take longer to obtain an initial fix on the satellites but when it has it rarely loses it (I have lost a fix under tree cover in country lanes). I have bought an extermal aerial from Navman to give me a faster start up and when this is connected it never loses the satellites.

Great! Thanks for the feedback. I'll take the plunge and order one.
