Im after a small PDA/Pocket PC that will run Tomtom software and has a built in GPS thing, not an external one. It must be able to use the USA map SD card and be relativly cheap. Second hand is fine i would just like to know a few model numbers etc that will do the job

You might get more helpful answers by posting in an appropriate forum with a decent subject line. There is a whole forum on tomtom software on PDAs for example.

That wouldn't fix your crap subject line. My guess is, if you look at the forum I mentioned there will be several recommendations (and models to avoid) already mentioned in there.

Hi fcat,
You might want to look for something like a Mitac Mio168.

That’s a little strong! However no problem, as I have edited the subject line and moved the post to a more appropriate forum.

MITAC MIO 168 , A201, A701
Ipaq 65xx and 69xx series
Imate do one as well. The Ipaqs and the A701 are phones as well. The A701 is phone size.

Bear in mind, built-in GPS is all well and good, and nice and tidy and what-not, but you are tied to the chipset that the phone manufacturer decides to use. If the phone doesn't have a SiRF III chipset, then it's not gonna be as good as having a Bluetooth GPSlim for example - plus, the reception might not be as good as a separate GPS unit, and you're sharing your battery between the phone and the GPS chipset. Swings and roundabouts. |

I have a Yakumo Delta X running TT5. I am very happy with my toy. I don't know whether these are available in the US.
I previously had a Mitek Mio 168. I was also very happy with it - until it broke. The Mio is available in the US. |

I have the Acer N35 which runs TTN5 very well. This can be purchased at a very modest £200 new but has Destinator 3 with it. I prefer using TTN5 but you would have to buy that as a seperate. As far as having more maps you can buy a 1 Gb SD card for £35. _________________ Mystery
