Scaredycats Apps (you can find them HERE) are :

Quickam - Allows you to store speed camera positions (or anything really) to a new POI category, with much less button presses than normal.

Autoswitcher - Automatically switches between Day/night colours based on your current lat/lon and calculated sunrise/set times for that location.

Satsync and SetTZ - Automatically update time and date from the satellites (something you'd think that the Go would do anyway!)

Navigate to Lat./Long. - does what it says on the tin (beta only).

There's also a method of customising your on-screen menus (eg to get rid of "Traffic" and bluetooth stuff - I've got my main menu down to 2 pages).
Details HERE

Then there's Ray Flanagan's site with a way to have more than the normal number of "slots" for warning sounds/voices (POI extended warnings page) amongst other goodies.

Now the bad news, most of these depend on the SDK (software developers' kit) from TomTom, which in a moment of genius they managed not to support in this firmware upgrade. Evil or Very Mad

Watch this space....

That's the $5,000 question....

The choice really comes down to whether a) you want to play with the "extras" - if so install v5.202 (available on Scaredycat's site) or b) you want more than 27 user POI categories. - if so stay where you are if v5.42 is working OK for you.

Hopefully EITHER a version of the new firmware will be released that does work with the SDK, OR a new version of the SDK will be released, and we will have to beg Scaredycat and Ray etc. to re-engineer all their add-ons all over again!

Oh sorry. Just re-read your post - thought you had already put v5.42 onto your machine.

In that case, I don't think there is much to recommend 5.42 if you are happy with 5.1 and don't want to play with the extras.
