Dear Group, i'm so new to navigators i haven't even got one yet! But i've ordered a Tomtom Go 300 for a Xmas prezzie for my wife.
Question, the maps and so on are stored in a "SD" card, is it possible to buy a sprae SD card, and if so will a 3rd party one do, and what sort would i need, and, wheres the cheapest .

Hi, and welcome to the Forum.
Yes, everything is on the SD card, and because of that do a complete backup of the sd card to your PC before you do anything else.
There are no maps on the CD that comes with the unit, so if you lose them you'll be without a TomTom for several weeks.
As the internal card is only 128MB there is very little room on there for additional POI's. If you are only going to use it in the UK get either a 256 or 512MB. They are fairly cheap at the moment, wherever you get them from.
Thank you neighbour (Norfolk) thats very kind of you. Yes i'll be sure to back up the SD card as soon as possible.
Thanks for your helpful reply and the link.
