I noticed that the External Antenna is sold with a new docking shoe. Does anyone know if you can plug the antenna directly into the 300? I have mine sitting in a little cubby hole in my 350Z and don't use/need the dock. There is not enough vertical clearance anyway.

Also, it seems that if you don't use the docking shoe, the unti will not turn on/off with the car ignition. Anyone found seen/solved this issue?

You would need to modify the lead, or the GO, to connect it directly. It is hard-wired intot the base.

It's a feature of the shoe. It has a third contact on the connector, in a similar way to a stereo jack plug.

From what I've read a re-radiating antenna may be the best option.; this doesn't need to plug into the go at all!

There was a review of one recently on this (Go) forum.

Stanley_Tweedle: You absolutely rock! I got a re-radiating antenna and my TT now works incredibly even in the dashboard cubby hole! Thanks!
