Is the integrated GPS receiver in merit performance? Does it allow external antenna?

I couldn't find details of the GPS capability of the integrated GPS receiver.

it seems to do a good job on my mates system. theres an external connector on the back of the iPAQ but i dunno if its for the phone or the GPS to be honest.
