First off, Hi to all on the forum
Was just after some input and info on the following. I have a car and a motorbike and am looking to buy a Tom Tom kit to use on both. My father has a TTG 700 and is most impressed with it, as am I, which is why I'd like to invest. The detailed road maps of Europe would be ideal for me when I travel on my bike.....Am I correct in thinking the Rider only has the major roads in Europe similar to the TTG500? Can it be upgraded to the same spec as the TTG700 or is there an updated spec version coming out? Also does the Rider have a speaker so that if I take it into my car I can use it similar to a TT Go unit and not have to use the headset? I do hope so as all I have seen advertised about the Rider is the ability to use from bike to bike......surely the transfer from car to bike is more appealing.....
Your help would be much appreciated

you can use different sizes of maps in these devices. If you have a big enough SD card you can copy all the maps off the 700 onto the Rider (for example).
The Rider has no speaker. You need to use a Bluetooth headset or a car stereo plug in the car. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply.....you say you can copy the maps off the 700 to the rider.....can you buy 2.5Gig card cos that is how much the 700's maps hold isn't it? Or would you have to buy a few smaller ones? Can you copy straight from a 700 device in any way?
The car stereo connection, how does that work? is there an output from the Rider that plugs into the stereo? phono?
Cheers, Mark |

I don't think that copying the 700 maps will work.. Where would you get an activation code?
You could copy the Western Europe CD maps, but these are separate countries.
The 700 only has 1.33 GB stored on it. The disc is 2.5GB. There is room to copy the 1GB USA map on as well. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
