Received the following reply from TomTom regarding updates, by the time they release the next update, TT V6 wont be far away....or maybe this is the next update ? ? ?
Dear xxx,
There will be further updates for the Navigator 5 software. We are working on updates all the time. As of yet we do not have a release date for the next update but we hope withing 1-2 months. We are sorry to hear that you are displeased with our software and hope future updates will change this.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team |

Not sure how you interpreted their "within 1-2 months" as "at least 1-2 months", but good news is they're still thinking of us punters. |

the longer you are a customer of tomtom the more you learn to understand their time frames and language
in my experience
within 1-2 months = probably never
tomorrow = not today and probably not tomorrow either
1st April = tomtom fools day when we all expect a new version to appear only to be bitterly dissappointed.
next week = sometime next month or year
delivery within 7 weeks = delivery within 7 days (hurrah!)
customer support = pocketgps web site forum
new version = loads of trouble and less use than old version
new version.1 = the update we should have got in the first place
tomtom Go = their future
tomtom Nav = their past and they would probably like to be shot of us
Personally I like tomtom but just wish there was a viable successor out there to take my money (or push tomtom to improve navigator) but at the moment no joy.

My view exactly Ian, your last paragraph sum's it up, lets hope CoPilot V6 is a viable option:-

I am holding my breath on co-pilot as well - looking at the cp forum doesn't give me much hope. Wonder if Dave still works for them - if so hope he's been a positive influence.
Also via michelin navigation 4 is due out this month - not got huge hopes of this either but who knows?
