Hey.
Bought a TomTom Yesterday and something is wrong with it. Everytime i put my postcode in it comes up with the road next to us which i know have got a different postcode also when i put the sat nav on in the house it says im in that road aswell and the road i actually live in is just up to road even does it when i start driving. when i go on the road and a "pass my road" its in a field??? what is going on? The area has ben here for 9 years.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

That is "normal" - unfortunately.
TomTom use a "snap to road" algorithm, and your current position seems to be closer to the other road.
As for the rest - that's probably just a map error. Report it to TeleAtlas. _________________ Lutz

yes.
We keep telling TeleAtlas about that, and they keep not listening...
You need to select "Great Britain", not "United Kingdom"... _________________ Lutz

I believe Garmin use NavTEQ maps. _________________ Lutz

don't make me move this thread into the "Best Forum". :x
You will have to decide for yourself what's better for you. My personal opinion is that Garmin is . Mind you that was my personal opinion and not endorsed by PocketGPSworld. _________________ Lutz

i have just realised why everything is all up with my streets on the map there are differnt 2 roads, mine and the next one but on the map there are 3 which is wrong so the "unnamed road tf13qq" should be st julians(tf13qq)- which is correct and then mine tf13qp should be where st juilans is showing on the map. To put it simple u need to get rid of the unnamed road and shuve my road and st julians down 100 yards. so there both in the correct place and have the correct postcodes. Mistry solved!! Just have to conact them now and tell them there are too many roads! |
