Is the GPS unit actually paired with the the PDA - it should show a couple of small green arrows under the icon (it needs to be SSP mode), once active and paired try setting the GPS in TomTom to other NMEA cabled devices, go for the correct Baud speed for your device, then select the correct bluetoth port from the options displayed (I know its a BT device and seems stupid selecting other wired - but give it a go) - finally make sure the GPS has a clean line of sight to the sky and give it ten min (minimum) to sinc up with the data (monitor the progress on the GPS setup screen you should see some activity after a while) - it will only need this ammount of time the first time, after this 20 - 30 seconds is about right - Mike

Is the unit in discovery mode, most units do this for about a min. and it is this period you need to pair the device, it is usually put in this mode at start up so go for a pair at this point - once the pair is achieved the rest is easy - no pair and no sat nav I am afraid - but this highlights where the problem actually is - Mike

Is it rechargable, or does it take batts, replace/ recharge if necessary they don't generally die that easily, once up and running we can carry this on - Mike

Does the PDA actually see the device at all (turn the GPS unit off then back on before trying this bit) - when in search mode, the explore BT Devices should spin the blue icon top left and then find the GPS unit, at this point select it, retrieving services will be displayed - at this point you select SPP mode, followed by finished. then the icon that is displayed needs to be tap and hold, then select connect from the pop up box, at this point you should get the two small green arrows and can then use it in TT - Mike
