Palm Zire & general info

Gotta confess being as thick as mince regarding GPS so please dont laugh.

Firstly, do you have to pay an annual supscription? If not, who the hell funds the satelites?

Secondly, I've seen a Palm Zire 31 GPS bundle with the Kirro Nav software. It's cheap but wondered if it's any good. Me and my missus toured France on the motorbike in the summer and the amount of times I got lost was untrue - I wore the left hand side of my tyre out doing u-turns. Would the Palm Zire be of any use?

At present you don’t have to subscribe to use Satnav unless you want traffic information and extra things like that. I have a bike (cbr 600FY)and i use a PDA for satnav, check out the forum below most bikers use Garmin Quest. http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=114
