Hi,
If you want to change your memory card you need to look for an SD card as that is what your TomTom Go uses.
Once you have your new card then you need to make a back-up of your existing card on to your pc (either using a card reader/writer or by connecting your Go to your pc with a USB cable) and then copy and paste the back-up onto your new card - it's that simple.
Are you wanting a larger card for more map data?

Hi Cabmanuk,
You need a bigger SD card. 128mb is not big enough for what you are trying to do, you need at least 512mb, or even better a 1GB (just in case you add lots of stuff e.g maps later).
Firstly you need to backup all the files from your 128mb card on to your PC hard disk, then you then need to copy all the contents of you original card to the new card, and pop the new card into your TT. (keep the original card safely away)
Try one from ebuyer. I currently use the Viking 512mb SD card on my TT500 and its been working fine.

From Jay-cee on the 'other' forum:-
Quote: | May be worth pointing out that Tom Tom requires Sd cards with a minium of 10Mb/s read/write ( x66) most cheap cards are slower than this!

I've recently purchased a TT300 and decided to buy an additional SD Card to use in the TT300 and keep the original safe.
I'm copying the files from my original backup via my TT300 after having first formatted the new card. When I now start up the TT300 with this new card in I get a picture of a card with a red cross through it - have I done anything wrong here?
For information purposes the new S D Card is a Kingston Elite Pro 512mb.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers |

Compare the size of files on the two cards. You may have disconnected the GO too soon and not transferred it all. It needs to be "safely removed" via right click.
The screen of the GO flashes when transfer activity occurs. You need to wait a bit after it stops just to make sure. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I think that's worked thanks.
Proof of the pudding will be when I use it tomorrow.
