Does anyone know where I can find a POI file for historic sites in Orkney?

I don't know of one, but if you have a list of addresses (locations), why not create your own. There can't be that many.

I believe Orkney has the highest concentration of Neolithic sites (monuments, stone circles, henges, burial mounds, settlements, etc) in Europe. On top of that there is the Viking era and of course the two world wars. Lot of history on the northern tip of the UK.

I meant no offence, but are we talking 100's or 1000's.

There are only about 1000 Postcodes in the Orkneys, so it shouldn't be to big a job. If you can obtain the location information.

I found one website that has lat & long of the main Neolithic sites and there are dozens of them. I did find one site that lists all known sites and there must be thousands. I think I'll make my own list of the main sites like the Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, the Tomb of the Eagles, Scapa Flow, the Italian Chapel and the Churchill Barriers and see how I get on by creating shortcuts from tourist info maps.
