Dell AximX50V cradal and power

Hi....can anyone advise me:

I have just ordered a Dell Axim 50v with their recommended BT GPS receiver with car charger. This add on was £144.82


I have a BMW 5 series and want to keep the PDA fixings, power cables to a minimum. (A professional finish) Get in the car, slot the PDA in a cradle and go.

Would I be better to send the GPS reciver, maps and windscreen mount back and get something better?

Does the GPS reciver determine which map sytem you use?

What cradle mount, GPS and power supply would you recommend for my car?

How would this effect portability ie would I be able to take this set up with me if I was travelling abroadin a rented car?

If you have a similar system I would love to get some ideas.
