Just installed tomtom5 to my dell axim x50v.Works fine when it wants to, but for no reason at all and without notice it will decide to shut down and revert back to the desktop screen. Also then you go into poi and select something i.e:petrol stations e.c.t it does the same, software will shut down.Has anyone else on here had the same probs?? |

I have had exactly the same happen to me and generally i will lose my destination from "recent dest." folder. I end up having to re-navigate. Certain POI's seem ok, but others like golf courses will just crash TT5 everytime. I have noted that it seems to crash in the same locations every time, ie as i travel by a village called Pannel near Harrogate, every time it will crash. I have checked and just before crashing it will have 4 or 5 indicators in the satelite display. Is this error caused by a fault in the software, i have removed and reinstalled twice already, or is it hardware failure, ie SD card- have tried SANDISK 256mb and Toshiba 512mb cards. Also i have tried a bluetooth receiver and a cable receiver. Running out of ideas. HELP
PS i am running a QTEK2020i(XDA2i i beleive) with tt5
Many thanks

I had a similar problem with tt5 on my Axim X50 (not v)- It always switched off an the same geographical places... Upgrading to TT5.1 seems to have fixed it.
I have never tried navigating to the TT supplied POIs with the exception of Air ports & Car Ferries - no problems. My custom POIs (made using POIedit) anso work without problems....
Am I just lucky and have an installation that works? Dunno...But I am very happy with TT5.1
As a point of interest, I am using 1Gb Sandisk sd card alternatively I have used a 512Mb Dane-Elec sd card - neither have any 'speed' info so I assume tham to be regular bog standard items... _________________ Axim X50 & TT5, Arkon CM820 powered mount with built in sirf2 gps

I had the same problem as 2020iMAN. As soon as I enabled the built-in Golf Course POI I had problems. I have deleted the POI.DAT file from the Great Britain maps folder. The problem disappeared immediately. I then started to used POIEDIT and created my own POI OV2 files. These work without problem. |
