Eliminating dashboard reflections

I`m having problems with sunlight being reflected onto the Navman screen by the dashboard in the day and reflections of the screen onto the windscreen at night. Is there a treatment to make the dashboard less reflective? Also does anyone make a visor to shroud the unit?
Should I be thinking of mounting it elswhere in the car (Ford focus), with an external antenna?

I know exactly what you mean!!

I found that if you set the display to max brightness, "High Contrast", and "Night Mode" this reduces reflections and works best in daylight!!!

For night time use, I use lowest brightness, "Ocean", and "Night Mode" again.

I got a WriteShield anti-glare screen protector from PocketPC techs. Works wonders!
