I had to drive the A14/A1M from Cambridge to Peterborugh and back over the weekend at exactly the same location on the journey in both directions Tom Tom turned off. this was just as the A14 became the A1M or vice versa anyone got any ideas why it happened.

weird
I travel through that junction 5 -6 times a week with no problem. I used to suffer similar things at one particular roundabout in ttn3 whereby tomtom would close 30% of the time I went round the junction (it was on my daily commute) I think it stopped doing this after either an update or a reinstall - never did find out why. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

Scorpio, which PDA are you using? is it a combined unit with integral phone? if so it could be beacon swapping at that junction, I get the same at work where the xda swaps between three transmitters at a specific location, just a thought - mike |

This can happen because of a map error or a file/storage error. Everytime TomTom attempts to read that piece of map data, the corruption could cause it to crash.
You could test for a storage error by copying all the files on your storage card to your PC, formatting the storage card, then copying the files back.
If the file was corrupted on installation removing and reinstalling the map would fix this.
The same could also happen with a corrupted POI at that point. |
