Hi All
Is There anyway of writing a batch file that autoruns "ShowTaskBar" from the SD Card, as if and when you have to do a hard reset, as I did a few days ago, you then have to start all over again. I know that I would have to log onto PoiWarner again to re-install this programme, unless someone knows better?

Hi there
Do a backup of the unit with Activesync after you have completed installing all the programs on it and are happy it runs ok, then when you need to you just reinstall the backup and it will go back to that condition.
Cheers

Hi Tel33
Your message received, the only things is that you are using a PDA, I am using a PNA, once you do a hard reset you loose all the programms that you have entered. You cannot do a backup of the windows, as this is sitting in ROM. So I need showtaskbar to auto run from the SD card, so that this reloads it into windows startup and an icon on the screen?, if this can be done that is.
regards

Hi there
I am using a PNA and not a PDA, just thought I would make it clear on that point.
You can do a backup with Activesync, this will restore any programs you have on it.
As you correctly state the main operating system is in ROM so you cant really screw it up that way unless you flash it accidnetally which is almost impossible accidentally unless you really try to do it and have the means to do it.
If you have problems you hard reset it, this clears any programs and leave a basic operating system and whatever programs were in ROM then using Activesync you restore the backup and it should return back to the state it was before it was screwed.
I hope this is of use to you.
Cheers

I don't think you can do a backup on the 95900 (200S) because ActiveSync wont let you create a partnership. |

I dunno. I know it doesn't work on mine. And I remember seeing loads of other posts about not being able to create a partnership so I just assumed it doesn't work properly and never really looked into it further.
I can transfer files using the guest option, that works fine. I do it quite a lot when hacking the favourites.txt and route-files to enter geocaching coordinates.
Binbags, why do you say "if and when you have to do a hard reset"? I've had mind for a good few months now and not had to do a hard reset for any reason. |

I dont understand it either, all I know is I can seem to be able to make a partnership, still it works for me or seems to so I am not that worried about it.
Cheers

Hi All
Thanks for your replies. Yes as you say I should be able to do a complete partnership with my PNA, but cannot, activsynch will not allow me to do this.
This is the second device that have had as the first went a faulty, this one does on the odd day freeze and the only way out of this loop is to do a hard reset. Even sometimes if I have used it for half a hour going to work and then switch off whilst it charges, I cannot lock onto the satelites until I do a soft reset. I know this is not right but I know what will happen if I send it back to Medion, from all I have raed aboout there customer service it is not very good.
So any help that I can get from you guys would be great.
regards

Hi folks a great forum here.
I too have problems forming a partnership with activesync and my pna medion 200s - I have been roaming around the forums looking for a solution but to no avail.
So if anyone reads this please post a reply.
thanks |
