e570 battery replacement

I have a toshiba e570 (just over two years old) and have found the battery needs replacing.

After searching the toshiba webisite for some time I eventually found out from another source that it has to be returned to a toshiba service centre.

Toshiba have quoted £35 pick up & return (as there is no service centre within 100 miles of chester), and & £80 to £90 for the battery.

Built in obsolecence!
