That exciting time when I order a new car is arriving.
Once it's delivered someone cleverer than me will come along and fit a telephone kit.
At the same time I want to get them to fit a permanent GPS antenna on the roof.
Are such things available ?
I don't want something attached by a magnet or a sucker- instead it has to be fixed and has to look OE (It's company car through a lease company).
I've seen classy looking antennas on Renault Lagunas and something like that would be ideal.
It will plug into a Syson CF Plus, though I may go down the BT route in the future so interchangeable plugs would be an advantage.
Would an antenna be active and need a power source, or are there passive ones like the radio aerial ?
Reason for wanting this is to improve the reception- the Syson seems to work brilliantly but the infrequent instances where it loses signal under trees or in town, usually occur just where I need to turn.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks for your help.

I use a Garmin gps35 bolted to the roof on my Volvo, it works great, but involves drilling the roof and soldering a compatible plug on the cable - probably not a great idea for a brand new leese car - mike

Thanks for the suggestions and sorry for the delay in replying.
I'm looking at both options- don't know yet which is favourite.

There are external GPS anetnnas but why bother? A decent GPS Mouse can be installed neatly on the dash or rear parcel shelf and will work just as well. Most factory fit systems are now mounted in this fashion.
