I have TTN 4.40 running brilliantly on my Sony Clie TH55, but want to know if my MP3 player (the wonderful little Busker app) can run in the background. Thus far, it seems that the voice prompts cause a fatal lock-up, even when I have the voice turned off. I wish that TT had an option for "no voice prompts" instead of the mute option, such as that offered by Mapopolis. For those wondering if I am totally mad, the MP3 player is connected to my car stereo by a tape adapter, and the whole set-up is just the business :-) |

Simply rename the .CHK file of the voice that is currently configured, and TomTom will be silenced.
(Now WHY you want to not have one of the most important features of a navigation software is beyond me) _________________ Lutz

Thanks for that. Why do I want the voice switched off? I have used sat-nav for a few years now, both in-car and via PDA, and the voices just bug me. Every program has too many prompts, so I have always muted the voice and relied on the visuals. |

weelogic, can you confirm please that the TT navigator runs on clie TH55? As I understand from tomtom site, it supports only the Palm T3!
Can you tell me please what you bought exactly? |

I tried to play MP3 (using Busker Player) on the background while using TTN5 (v5.12). It does not work quite well.
I have tried with other MP3 players as well: realplayer, aeroplayer, mmplayer, and pocket tune. At the end, pocket tune works the best. But I think there's still some issue with TTN5.
When TTN5 has to recalculate the route (due to going off-course), sometime my palm totally freeze up with MP3 playing background. When the song finishes, it's dead. I have to do soft-reset to recover.
I think TTN5 need to debug the issue.
btw, i'm using Palm TT5 + GlobalSat BT-338 + SANDisk UltraII 1GB SD. |

I was using TT4.4 with Realplayer on my T5 with only occasional problem. Upgraded to TT5 and now can't use MP3 player, Ver 5 maps locks Palm (even before I started journery!!).
However Ver3/4.4 Western Europe maps work ok if a bit out of date, but still not with MP3 player |
