G'day all.
having installed tom tom 5 on my PDA I live in fear of my battery running down , if it did can I get TT5 up and running again without reinstalling the all programme, surely there must be a quick way to get up and running again, and can inserts in the "recent destination" menu be deleted is so how ? please .
many thanks in advance

You don't state which PDA you have - but does it have a back-up programme on it? - if so use it and save the back-up to the SD card, that will never wipe (unless it goes U/S) if you have no back up programme on the PDA then invest in one ASAP, I have inbuilt backup programms on the Ipaq's and the XDA which are invaluable, not sure about deleting recent destinations as I can't find a way to do it anyone else? - Mike |

Get Sprite Backup and use it to create a self-extracting backup on SD card. If you ever have to do a hard reset of you PDA, after the reset just execute the self-extracting backup and away you go. _________________ Kam |

Hi grayus,
to the forum!
Apart from ensuring that you regularly charge up the PDA, I’ll repeat what kartracer has said. You should buy a copy of Sprite Backup. If you’re running a PocketPC the latest version is 3.1.4. If you have an iPAQ you can upgrade from the iPAQ backup software to the full blown "Sprite Backup Personal Edition" for just US$10.00.

what i'm planning to when off to france on hols this winter is to get a second battery - brand new generic ones go for about a tenner on a certain auction site ...
in my case I want to use my ipaq for wnadering around on foot with and it's got much less battery life than my TT5 BT GPS |
