Hi guys,
I'm looking at getting a new pda to run my tomtom 5 software which is currently installed on my Ipaq rz1710.
If I just buy a pda with built in gps will it let me install it or can you only use it on 1 pda.
Can I run 2 pda's on the same piece of software? |

You can activate the license onto a second device seven days after the first activation, a third is permitted following a six month gap. I hope the new PDA will have more memory as the 1710 is somewhat limited as a PDA with TT loaded, it works but only just - best of luck - Mike |

I was thinking about a Mio 168 as i'm fed up with the wired gps receiver!
I loaded the software on a couple of weeks ago! do you mean that I have to wait 7 days or I only have seven days to register it?
If I have this right I could buy a pda after christmas & register the licence a second time then I could buy another six months later & register again.
Is there a limit of 3 registrations?
Sorry for all the stupid questions!! |

You have to wait for a period of seven days for the second activation, then a further six months for the third - once this time span has elapsed then there is no problem in using it, in addition if the PDA is damaged and you can produce proof the PDA has been damaged/ scrapped then TT support will normally issue the release code for the replacement device - you can only use the TT on a single device at any one time though - Mike |

Nothing wrong with the Hp RZ1710, I was actually thinking of seeling it. It came with TomTom 4 I think Last christmas & I recently upgraded it to TomTom 5 Which wasactually the full software so I think I might take TomTom 5 off it, re-install the older software & keep the tomtom5 for the new pda.
What do you think? Will this work? |

It may well work but it is not within the legal license you own for the use of the software, if you upgraded from 4 to 5 then the vs4 ceases to exist as far as your rights are to use it - Sorry - Mike |
