Due to the 1st one totaly failing to do anything I feel a bit apprehensive about this after my !st experience Embarassed HELP Exclamation

Hi Martin
I strongly suggest that you purchase a USB2 card reader if you don't already have one.

If using XP, as soon as you plug in the card reader, the computer sees it as an additional drive.

All you have to do is plug your card into the reader and copy/paste the data from the card into a directory in 'My Documents' - I suggest that you name the directory such as 'My TomTom SD Card Backup'.

Regards

Glad to hear all is well.

I suggest that once you have backed up the card to your hard drive, you should now burn it on a CDrom as a true archive backup - that way if your HD fails, you still have a backup...

Cheers matey

While the memory card is bullet proof from a power outage or hard reset the actual programs on the PDA are not - as real sure fire protectection back up the PDA to the SD card or the internal non-volatile memory, that way if it all lets go and you are away from home a reinstall is relativley easy, the PDA should have some back up software on it so use it to produce a copy of the device that you can easily re-load if the big black clouds loom up - Mike
