Is there an optimum format for SD cards for use with TTN5?
I have a SanDisc 512MB card and use my HP iPAQ 1710 exclusively for Sat Nav. On the SD card I have GB map, GB postcodes, France Plus map and various POIs (safety camers, Tescos, Sainsburys, etc).
I've formatted the SD card on FAT32 (with back up) with 2MB clusters to minimise slack space. There's plenty of room left on the card.
Is the performance of the card compromised with such a small cluster size?
Thanks!

It doesn't make too much difference really. Grab a copy of Pocket Mechanic and test various different formats. Personally I use FAT16 with 16k clusters

Also take a look at my website:

Hi

I've never had to format a SD card as yet. Should I do so on the ppc (Mio 168) or do I use my pc & card reader (using XP with NTFS file system).

I always use the PC & Card reader, I use Panasonic Cards and when I bought the first one it came with it's own formating program SDFormater V1.01 which restores the SD card to it's original format, I believe it's also available for download from the Panasonic site. If my SD card is in the card reader I can also use Executive Software's Diskeeper to do a Defragmentation as well.
