Tomtom USA maps on TomTom 5

Hi, i recently purchased a copy of tomtom 2 wit hthe USA maps, which also were compatible with tomtom 3. However, i have tried to install the new maps with tomtom 5 for pocketpc and the software cannot find the new maps, it just shows the great britain map. does anyone know whether these are compatible or not?

I got TomTom Navigator 5 and all Europ's map and i would like to get USA/Canada map too.
Does somebody know where i can get the USA & Canada map (without the software because i already have it) and if i can use it with my TT5 french version ?
I sent an email to TomTom and they answered to me that they will probably sell the map in September but i will be in USA beginning of September and i would like to have it before to go.
