hi all
i just got the ttg300 and tried to do a back up from the cd but tells me to plug to mains but i havnt got mains charger yet so i exited that then opened my computer copyed the tt file then pasted to a file in my docs its 85.8 MB and contains 5.797 105 folders does that sound right.? im getting a new 512 sd card soon so ill try to copy paste on to new card and hope its ok. btw do i have to put the tt cd in my pc every time i plug the tt to it.? is there anything else i should do

sorry that should say 5.797 files 105 folders
also i right clicked the ttg file and the properties its got 77.6mb used and no free space is that right? also it dont come up as a folder and when i click it it take me to set up which i exit is that why i cant see gb maps when i open the back up file? also its v5.201 if that helps |

suggest you go to http://www.tomtom.com/support/support.php?ID=3&Language=1 and install the 5.201 update for tomtom go 300. Then you can do a full backup plus you will have the latest firmware as when shipped your unit will only have ver 5 firmware. |

kna - I don't know what you backed up but the Map Folder itself should be about 100MB and the complete TTG backup should be just under 120MB.
The instruction to plug in the mains is a throwback to the Classic. Just ignore it and carry on.
I would do the 5.201 Full Backup as you can sure then that you have backed up everything. _________________ Richard

i cant ignore it it pops back up again and wont go on to next step
sorry to be so thick but i dont understand 5.201 back up? |
