Routing Preferences in TomTom5

Hi all,

Witht the release of the 5.1 patch almost all my gripes with TT5 have been fixed - however on major one still remains.

When will we be able to set a preference for road speeds as per TT3 ?
Currently 75% of my journeys start with TT5 trying to guide me off the main road to the M40 to take a winding (if pretty) route which would add masses of time to my journey if I didn't know better.

I've just planned my first route using the French maps and the route it's taken is appalling it would literally add hours to the journey I'm intending - wierdly TT3 uses precisely the same route I'd choose - this is a major annoyance - you just can't trust the route it gives you - and know I don't want to spend ages putting in vias and avoids - if i wanted to do that I'd use a paper map.

All in all the routing algorithm sems to be going backwards - TT2 was fast (but the roads were massively out of date when i got it) TT3 was fast and sensible but the ETAs were abysmal and the routes were out of date.
Now TT5 uses ridiculous routes and has been so dumbed down you just can't customise it to work properly.

It seems that Tomtom have decided that the TomTom Go and its ilk are their future - well if they continue to develop products like TT5 it seems that we users of PDAs etc will have less and less reason to use their products.

Are they using different maps for TomTom Go and Navigator 5?
