I have installed the new version of POI Warner although, as can be seen from a previous post, I can't seem to get the upgrade to 5.1 to work yet.
However because of space constraints I decided to install it on the storage card which has the TT maps on.
The POIs are in the GB Map folder wheras POI Warner needs them in the root directory of the storage card.
I have copies all the speed camera POIs to the root directory but my question is will I need to have the POIs in both places or will TT 5 work if the POIs are not in the Map folder?

POI Warner for TT5.1 expects the POI files to be in the map directory, they are on mine and it reads and sychronises them. In fact it will find and manage POIs in several map directories.
However I do not find this version stable enough to use at present and it often gets locked up in SDK Error loops when near a POI. |

I am using the new POI Warner but find it using up PPC Resources and therefore keeps throwing me off the road all the time, even with the POI's hidden.
It's early days yet so I am using POI Warner to keep my POI's upto date but do not run the application alongside TT5.1. I then use the built in POI Warning system in TT5.1, with the POI's still hidden.(custom sounds in use)
PPC now stable again but it's a bit of a pain. I can still add/delete POI's and POI Warner Sync's them.
This may jsut be a problem with the MIO168?? |

My does not slow down but gets blocked by error message windows that as soon as you clear, re-appear and effectively stop you using TT5.1
I keep getting “SDK Error” message windows with “comms->NrReceiveFields () >0” when I approach a POI. If I click on “OK”, the message box “HandleCommand” appears with the message “No fields in command” . This error will keep occurring and the only way to stop it is to reset my IPAQ. |

I am also using TTN5.10 and POI Warner.
I have had no problems with lock-ups, but I would agree that the screen refresh rate has reduced.
In addition the warning time is erratic and if you have a speed warning set you do not get the last warning.
Better than the built in warner, but room for improvement. _________________ Regards, Andrew

Start POI Warner.
Choose, File, Options,
In the Hardware Key Box click on the arrow and selecta key you would like to use to record/delete POI'.
Click OK, then start monitoring.
Now it should work. |
