I'm trying to find a way of sending a message to a phone with TomTom Mobile 5 on and it automatically firing up TTM5 and displaying a route to a location included in the message. Can anyone help?
I work in the fire service, and many of our officers have SP3s with TTM5. I have an application that we have produced that enables us to send a message to a phone with a location in. I think we can get TTM5 to run. So I need a way of telling it to route to a particular location programmatically. Anyone got any ideas?
There seems to be a possible mechanism. If I plan a route but switch TTM5 off before arrival, or even switch the phone off, next time I run TTM5, it starts off by planning the route to the same location. So the fact that it is navigating and the location it is navigating to is stored somewhere. If I could find out where, I wondered if I could put the location in there and then fire up TTM5, I could get the result I want. I have tried scouring throught the registry and the file system, and I can't find where it is stored. Anyone got any idea?
Or any other idea how I can get it to route to a location programmatically?
dont think this is really what you're looking for but you can send a contact business card with the address in it via sms, then just use the contact navigation programme to navigate to the address. Probably no help at all tho
How about creating a small app that could receive the message then create an itenery file, all the person with the phone would need to do is route to itenery point,
If you look under TomTom Navigator section, I'm sure theres some infomation on the itenery and how to put a Lat/Lon position in it,
Hope this helps,
