Ring around position arrow

I have noticed that there is a ring around the position arrow, but sometimes the ring disappears.

What does the ring signify?

I have looked at the manuals, and cannot find what it means.

Anybody know?? Question

This is only an educated guess but my old Garmin eMap used to show a ring around the arrow to indicate the accuuracy of the plotted position. The more GPS satellites it had in sight, the more accurate it was and the smaller the circle became.

I have not noticed this ring on the TTG but will now look for it.

Well spotted.... an undocumented feature ?

It has a ring around it when in browse map but can't remember seeing it in navigation.

The ring does not appear in 3d mode, but appears in map mode.
It is there when navigating or "Follow-me",.. or in Demo mode.

It does not change size on signal strength. - But that would be a useful feature.

I just used the TTG with out the 3D map mode and i also got the ring around my position arrow..

Not sure what it means though? Embarassed
