I'm new to this, and started off with Navman Sat Nav on my mio168. After a few tests, I thought Tomtom 5 would be better. I installed it ok and got it all running. One point, I found was the long initial delay in getting a fix, but after, fixes are faster. Now I have installed the speed camera database using poiedit. I also found wave files for the different speeds. These are .wmv files, and I think all the speech files are in another format. My question is will wave files work, or should they be converted to another format, and if so what folder should the converted speech files be placed in. Hope this makes sense.

Hi
you need the data.chk file from this site and you copy it to the mio 168 it self not the memory card, copy it to program files\navigation in here you should the original data.chk file rename it to data.chk.bak and copy the file accross.
Open tomtom software and test should now work |

Hi,
Yea, I see the file "data.chk", you mention in the post. I looked all over the site, but can't find a download. Can you point me to it please |

Thanks for the link. Went there, did all the biz, installed the modified data.chk file. Alas, it wouldn't work for me. Now I know why, I have tomtom navigator, not tomtom go. Thanks for your help, will have to wait till some one adapts the file for the navigator.

Wait no more!

BTW, if you have Navigator 5.10 for the PPC, then you should be able to use the 4890 file that Navigator 5.00 uses. ;)
